Streets and Roads named for Olmste(a)ds
There are probably more than a hundred streets and roads in America and Canada named for an Olmstead or Olmsted. This is an attempt to identify all of them and who they were named for. Note that “FLO” is Frederick Law Olmsted. Please email us of others so that we can add them to the list. We would like to know the location, maybe a little history or reason and who it was named for.

Monterey — Olmsted Road and Olmsted Way near the airport for FLO.
San Francisco — Olmstead Street — Connecting McLaren Park to San Bruno Avenue, now bisected by Burton Academic School campus. Possibly named for FLO but the city put the “a” in the name.
Stanford — Olmsted Road

East Hartford — Olmsted Street
Wilton — Olmstead Hill Road — In 1729, James Olmsted assembled a farm of 87 acres on the hill to which he gave his name. Olmsted Hill Road was laid out the same year. (Russell, Robert. Wilton Connecticut, 2004; pg. 29 and 37)
